Job Description
Job Summary:
As the key liaison between the HR Department and assigned to DTE Energy business units, works collaboratively with business unit and HR Department leaders and staffs to drive achievement of business unit strategies, goals, objectives and key business initiatives through the delivery of strategic, tactical and administrative human resources services. This position is assigned to smaller, less complex Business Unit’s and will draw on management and Sr. Client Relations Generalists to assist, as needed.
Key Accountabilities:
-Actively recruit new employees using various means and events.
-Create verbiage to be used for internal job postings and external advertisements.
-Perform applicant screening regarding job relevance.
-Coordinate the internal hiring process.
-Develops and demonstrates a working knowledge of DTE Energy’s mission, vision, values, competitive environment and key strategies that create market advantage, including, specifically, how the enterprise achieves its’ objectives and the business language of the enterprise.
-Develops and demonstrates a working knowledge of the assigned business unit’s competitive environment, strategies, goals and objectives, key business initiatives and operational model that creates competitive market advantage, including, specifically, how the business unit makes money and the business language of the business.
-Proactively assesses the human resources implications of the business unit’s strategies, goals and objectives, key business initiatives and operational model and effectively communicate and create mutual understanding of those implications to business unit leadership.
-Works collaboratively with business unit and the Client Relations Team, HR subject matter experts, and other HR professional and administrative staff to create plans to address business needs and executes against plans to deliver workforce and talent planning, staffing, compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, affirmative action, development, performance management, and other related human resources solutions that address the human resources implications of and are aligned with the business unit’s strategies, goals and objectives, key business initiatives and operational model.
-Ensures statutory, regulatory, ethical, contractual and policy compliance consistent with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, enterprise values and code of conduct, collective bargaining agreements and human resources policies and procedures.
-Advises and coaches business unit on appropriate use of the HR service delivery model and the HR policy and guidelines.
-Advises and coach leaders and employees through employee related matters.
-Solicits guidance and advise from Sr. Client Relations Generalists as needed to ensure that appropriate actions are taken and recommendations are made in accordance with DTE policy and BU needs.
Qualifications
-Required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management or related discipline.
-Required: Must have 4 plus years of experience providing human resources, recruiting, labor relations, and/or organization development advice and counsel.
-Required: Working knowledge of state and federal employment and labor relations laws and regulations and professional best practices.
-Preferred: Strong recruiting and/or sourcing experience.
-Preferred: Nuclear, utility, and/or plant environment experience.
-Preferred: Experience working within a union environment.
-Demonstrated ability to effectively influence, persuade and coach to reach desired results.
-Demonstrated experience in using a customer focused, business driven and results/solutions (not activity) oriented approach to establishing, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
-Demonstrated experience effectively communicating orally and written in multiple formats with varied audiences from individual to large groups.
-Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining effective and mutually beneficial relationships at and across organizational levels.
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
-Strong strategic, systemic and integrated thinking and decision making skills.
-Able to set and execute priorities while simultaneously managing multiple projects.
-Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office business applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), human resources information systems (SAP experience preferred), and Internet-based services and applications.
***NOTE: Must be able to maintain a position on the Fermi Emergency Response Organization (ERO) in support of the Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP), must be able to pass all phases of In-Processing including a background investigation, psychological screening, appropriate radiation worker/respiratory training and be medically certifiable (drug and alcohol screen),Must meet regulatory requirements per Fermi procedures***
