AT&T, REDICO FIBER READY PARTNERSHIP!
Southfield’s American Center Designated as AT&t FIBER Ready
Designation Reflects Presence of Fiber-Based, High-Speed Internet
Southfield, MI, February 24, 2017 — As part of AT&T’s continuing effort to drive economic development and investment in Michigan, AT&T today met with representatives from REDICO, a national commercial real estate development and investment company, U.S. Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence and other local elected officials to announce Southfield’s American Center building is now designated AT&T Fiber Ready.
“This is great news for southeast Michigan,” said Lawrence. “In today’s information-driven economy, access to state-of-the-art communications infrastructure is absolutely critical when it comes to attracting new investment and talent to a region. This Fiber Ready Designation from AT&T lets businesses leaders everywhere know that Southfield is an attractive place to invest.”
The Fiber Ready Designation provides American Center with an attractive selling point for REDICO as it works to retain and attract current and prospective tenants.
“An AT&T Fiber Ready designation lets businesses know that American Center has the very best to offer in terms of its communications infrastructure, and in today’s world, that’s an important selling point,” said Dale Watchowski, president and CEO of REDICO.
The AT&T Fiber Ready designation helps economic development leaders more effectively position their communities for site selection by emphasizing the availability of high-speed, fiber-based services.
“Top quality fiber is something businesses actively seek out when they’re considering expansion or relocation, and we’re thrilled that Oakland County can now tout another location offering businesses access to the very best in that regard,” said Matt Gibb, Deputy Oakland County Executive.
AT&T has been deploying high-speed fiber-optic infrastructure across Michigan for years, and the AT&T Fiber Ready designation was developed as a tool for economic development leaders to highlight the assets available in their facilities.
“I’m so pleased that we can now include the American Center on a growing list of locations that have been designated Fiber Ready here in Michigan, said Jim Murray, president of AT&T Michigan. “In today’s economy, secure, reliable internet access at the fastest speeds is critical to the success of any business. With this Fiber Ready designation, the American Center now offers businesses access to the very best when it comes it internet speed and connectivity they need to growth and thrive.”
